Ganesh -- what a fascinating & curious thing to ponder. You're totally onto something here, and I absolutely believe that the medium of photography can most certainly encompass abstractism.

I was at a gallery yesterday that was featuring enormous photographic prints, a few of which I would consider to be exactly that (oh, Lord -- forgive me, but for my life I can't remember the name of the artist ...Robert something??...OR the gallery...in NYC, on the downtown side of W. 25th street, between 10th & 11th...anyone? Ayeesh, Brad!!)

On another note, you mention that "...these terms – “abstractism” and “abstract realism” are well known in art, not my inventions." Ah yes -- well known, widely used & seemingly understood...BUT just google the term "abstract realism" & you'll find that an official definition is hard to come by. There are separate entries in Wikipedia for each, but nothing on the term as a whole. And I certainly haven't found an official definition yet (though I've landed on your FASCINATING post as a result of my own googling...). Thanks!!!

In fact I am seeing god in the first image. The abstractism makes me visualize "Lord Ganesh" in this image. It seems he is squatting with one of the legs folded and upright, and a hand raised. The brighter petals around produce the Halo effect and the darker stamen in the center being the belly.

Santhosh, these terms - "abstractism" and "abstract realism" are well known in art, not my inventions. My belief is there is a lot to learn from art movements of past and some of them may have application in nature photography.

Thanks for your views..

Hi Ganesh,
The concept of abstractism and abstract realism is certainly thought provoking. The very definition of art says art is skill, not the principle acquired by the human mind. I mean art is subjected to imaginations. This imagination sometime leads creativity or someother time innovations. Creativity can be said as building something by modifying, manipulating or adding new things to the existing one. I think we can relate abstract realism with creativity. But innovation is building a new thing of our own from the blank or from nothing. so, abstractism finds relevence to innovation. As you said photography involves imaginations, i believe innovations and creativity play important role in that.i think the above concepts can be applied to any form of art, could be literatures, poems etc.
Thanks a lot for valuable information about beautiful concepts. Since i am amature to talk about those i apologise if i am wrong in my views.

This topic evokes a chain of thoughts Ganesh, which implies how much more you would have have thought about it!

\"In a related note I do believe mathematical computing model (if one exists or can be formulated) of human brain (and of an insect for that matter) is much more powerful than Turing machine (todays computer).\" Says it all...!
